Rosalind Fuse-Hall




Rosalind Fuse-Hall (leadership) who is the Executive Assistant to the Chancellor of North Carolina Central University. She serves as the campus liaison for governmental relations, the assistant secretary to the Board of Trustees and other special projects.  Since the Fall of 2002, she has worked with other colleagues on the development of the new "West Campus," coordinating with city officials regarding zoning matters, state officials regarding relocation assistance for residents, as well as developers and construction firms. Fuse-Hall is a former associate dean at the University of North Carolina and the former secretary for the UNC School system. This wife and mother has also worked as an attorney. She has served as staff attorney at the Security Exchange Commission in New York. She resides in Durham, NC.

 


 

Debra Terry


 

Debra Terry (the arts) is an actress, comedienne, producer from Kernersville, NC. Terry recently worked for one year on the “Donnie Simpson Morning Show” on WPGC 95.5 FM – in the DC-metro area – helping make it the “#1 morning show.” Her television credits include a recent principal role in Funny Valentines (produced by and starring Alfre Woodard) in which Terry plays a preacher’s wife named Mrs. Watts. Terry has worked with the best comedians and singers in the industry, such as Patti LaBelle, Regina Bell, Brian McKnight, Paul Mooney, Mo’Nique, J. Anthony Brown, Chris Rock, George Wallace, Just June, Dennis Miller, Bernie Mac and D L Hughley to name a few.

Mildred Edna Cotton Council aka “Mama Dip” (entrepreneurship) is the owner of her own restaurant. Mama Dip's first job was as a family cook in Chapel Hill. She then moved on to work at Carolina Coffee Shop, Kappa Sigma fraternity and St. Andrews Hall. In 1957 she worked with her Mother-in-Law in a tiny take out restaurant where she began to hone her business skills. On a Sunday in November 1976 Mama Dip opened her own restaurant with $64, $40 dollars went toward food and $24 was used to make change. The morning's take was used to fund the lunch meal and lunch to fund the dinner. At the end of the day Mama Dip took home $135, and the rest is history.

Carnetta Green (service) is the Coordinator for the Durham Housing and Community Development. Green helps to provide food, shelter, and other basic essentials for disadvantaged and underprivileged families. As with many service jobs that serve the community, there are many challenges and difficulties one faces. On many occasions District Four Partners Against Crime has been able to call Carnetta when a homeless family needs assistance - she gets to work right away!

Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole (Living Legend Award) 14th president of Bennett College, has a distinguished career as a college and university teacher and administrator that spans 37 years. She is President emerita of Spelman College and Professor emerita of Emory University from which she retired as Presidential Distinguished Professor of Anthropology, Women’s Studies and African American Studies. Dr. Cole began her college studies at Fisk University and completed her undergraduate degree at Oberlin College. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in anthropology from Northwestern University before embarking on a career in teaching and research in the areas of cultural anthropology, African American Studies and Women’s Studies.
