Nomination Rules for Mahogany Dime™ Awards 2006

The Mahogany Dime™ Awards, presented by Mahogany Dime LLC, are designed to acknowledge and honor African American women across the state of North Carolina. Individuals who are nominated must be residents of the state of North Carolina. Women are honored in the following categories: service, leadership, entrepreneurship, and the arts. One woman will also be honored with the Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole Living Legend Award.

Nomination essays should be no longer than two full 8 1/2 x 11 typed page, double-spaced, 12 point font. The nomination essay must include specific examples of the nominee's commitment to excellence in the category in which she is nominated. Entries that do not follow the guidelines or that are illegible will be automatically disqualified and will not be considered. Mahogany Dime LLC, its sponsors and partners are not responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible, mutilated, postage due, or incomplete nominations. All nominations become the property of Mahogany Dime LLC and will not be returned.

The nomination period for entries begins on Friday March 25, 2005 and will close on Wednesday August 31, 2005. Entries postmarked after August 31, 2005 will be ineligible. By participating in the Mahogany Dime™ Awards, the nominees agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising, promotional or broadcasting material relating to this event. The decision of the Awards Selection Committee will be final and binding in all aspects relating to the awards.

Winners may be profiled on video or on our website, www.mahoganydime.com. Nominators may be contacted for additional information during the selection process.

Mahogany Dime LLC, its sponsors, partners will not assume any responsibility for any changes in the execution of the awards event, including: cancellation of the awards event as a result of the occurrence of events not within the control of Mahogany Dime LLC such as Acts of God, Strikes, and Terrorist Acts. In the event, such an act should occur, Mahogany Dime LLC will make reasonable attempts to present winners with awards at another time and/or reschedule the event to resume on another date in the future in its entirety.

Mail nomination forms to: Mahogany Dime Awards, P. O. Box 51434, Durham, NC 27717. Or nominations forms may be emailed to amahoganydime@aol.com. Please include contact information for the nominee including full name, phone number, address and email, if applicable. Due to the high volume of nominations, we are unable to notify nominators if their nominees are not selected.
